Prayer for the Mortgage Loan Officer

July 5, 2012 by Shirleen Von Hoffmann Leave a reply »

One hundred years from now…

It won’t matter what car I drove…

What kind of house I lived in…

How much I had in my bank account…

Nor what my clothes looked like…

But, the world may be a little better place,

Because I financed a home for a family.

It doesn’t matter that I worked weekends…

Missed precious time with my family and children…

Stayed late at night to meet buyers, when they arrived 45 minutes late…

Picked up their last minute conditions for approval, because they were too busy to meet me,  in 100 degree heat…

Refereed their arguments  over every little thing they were financing in their home…

Entertained their bored children while they ran around  my office…”Want some candy?  Now let’s put that file down!”

Argued with the underwriter about their late payments;  “There nice people, they didn’t mean it…”

Bent over backwards reporting loan status to the buyer, selling agent, builder, escrow company…whomever needed to know!

Listened patiently while the past real estate agent mother in law, drilled me over rates and fees…why I don’t know…

Happily re-explained everything I initially explained at Loan Application, again at closing…

But I must never forget, the world may be a little better place,

Because I financed their home.

I changed a community and I made a difference in the lives of others!

I having an amazing job and bring my amazing gifts to that job daily!

Hallelujah- Amen
